This projects Inspiration is the city of Paducah, KY and its constant battle with the Ohio, and Tennessee rivers. The same river that gives this city strategic and industrious value is also Paducah’s greatest enemy. Paducah ‘s environment/social situation is not isolated. The waterways of the United States are dotted with many cities in the same position. When the biggest danger to the continental U.S can easily slip by the established external defenses and destroy its internal cities a new type of military structure should be developed.
The Demand of U.S river cities require the development of a domestic fleet, which can provide support and protection against severe weather. The modular infrastructure based on river tugs and barges will allow for a saleable response to any situation.
